Where would we be without our trusted Office Manager, Dawn Brady?
Dawn is the mainstay of our Head Office operation, our ‘Go to Girl’ who is in charge of the office-based staff. She is also an important point of contact for the wider Justice team, as well as customers and suppliers. If anyone can be relied on to know what’s what, to sort out queries and to keep the engine room of the office on a secure footing, Dawn has the answers!
Like so many members of the Justice Fire & Security team, she has certainly put in a few shifts for the Company. It’s now 20 years and counting since Dawn first came to work here, initially in the accounts section and then, as time went on, in an increasingly pivotal administrative role.
“I suppose you could say I’m part of the furniture,” says Dawn, who is still responsible for the accounts, dealing with customers and suppliers, some of whom remember her when she first started.
The business has grown a huge amount in that time. “When I first joined, we were primarily dealing with fire and intruder alarms. Now it’s all kinds of safety and security equipment, such as fire extinguishers and CCTV, which has become a big part of the business,” Dawn reflected.
Affectionately known as Judith Chalmers because of her love of foreign holidays, Dawn is keeping her fingers crossed that she‘ll be able to return to her beloved Mallorca later this year. Her niece lives there and she has been a regular visitor.
It's now been over a year since she had to start working from home – like everyone else - due to the Covid restrictions. “At first, it did feel strange,” Dawn reflected, “but I still pop into the office a couple of times a month, just to make sure everything is OK. Despite everything, we seem to have got things working smoothly and it seems to be pretty much business as usual, as far as the service is concerned.”
Recalling her time at Justice, Dawn said it has felt like a good fit since day one. “For me, it’s a very convenient and happy place to work. We are a friendly, tight-knit group team and we all look out for each other. Above all, it’s nice to feel valued and appreciated,” added Dawn who, when away from work, loves spending time with her three grandchildren.
