Our Sales Administrator, Amanda Harrison, is a fine example of this. Amanda arrived here 15 years ago, quickly slotted into the team
and has stayed ever since.
Her day-to-day role is busy and varied, handling quotes for customers, booking in engineers for customer call-outs and providing all
the necessary back-office support needed to keep our busy installations programme ticking over.
“My role is to act as an interface between our engineers and our customers,” explains Amanda. “Making sure people are kept in the loop,
checking appointments run on time and handling enquiries that come into the office. There is a lot of interaction with the customers,
which I really enjoy.”
Having a happy working environment is also important to Amanda. “We have all had to get used to working from home during the pandemic
and, to some extent, you miss the close bond we have in the office, along with the sense of humour that you share with your work
colleagues. But it’s surprising how quickly you get used to working at a distance, with just the occasional trip into the office.
“As I live close by, this has always been a very convenient place to work, but it is the good working atmosphere and the fact that there is so much happening day-to-day that makes it all worthwhile.
“When I first got the job, I didn’t necessarily think I’d still be here 15 years later, but that’s exactly how it’s worked out,” says
Amanda, who is mum to two teenage children when she’s not on office duties. “I tend to be a bit of a taxi service for them – but
I suppose that’s what mums are for!” she adds.
