Summary
Wireless fire alarm systems are transforming fire safety for commercial premises. Offering fast, disruption-free installation, exceptional flexibility, and reliable performance, these state-of-the-art systems are ideal for offices, warehouses, hotels, and other complex or large-scale buildings. Discover how going wireless can protect your people and property more efficiently than traditional wired solutions.
Wireless and wire-free fire alarm systems are undoubtedly the way ahead when it comes to keeping people and property safe from fire-related incidents – and heres’s why:
Why Choose Wireless Fire Alarms for Your Commercial Building
Increasingly taking the place of traditional, wired fire alarm installations, state-of-the-art wireless systems create next-to-no disruption to your day-to-day business operation when they are being fitted - and they are extremely cost effective.
Above all, they’re great at doing what they are primarily designed for - detecting signs of fire and smoke at the earliest possible stage.
Ideal for any type of commercial building, wireless fire alarms are particularly suited to large scale premises, such as expansive warehouses, sprawling retail sites, large office blocks, government buildings, hotels and sporting facilities. Given their flexibility, they’re also well-suited to properties with challenging layouts, where less flexible wired systems can’t always provide complete coverage.
Advantages of going Wireless
WiFi is just about everywhere these days. It may be invisible, but when it’s not available, it’s definitely apparent! We’re lost without it! The same goes for wireless or wire-free fire alarms – they’re now the unobtrusive norm, providing numerous advantages over older wired systems.
It's easy to see why this is the case.
1. Hassle-free Installation
Firstly, at the installation stage, fitting a wireless fire alarm system means you don’t have to rip up or interfere with the fabric of the building. You don’t need to close off whole areas or move staff around whilst we are on site – a level of disruption that would almost certainly be necessary during the installation of a wired system.
Laying lengths of cabling can be a tricky and time-consuming business – often with mixed results. But when no wire’s required, our engineers can simply install the system around your existing business operation – in a fraction of the time, with all the resulting savings in labour charges.
2. Flexibility
If any adaptation or extension to your system is required in the future, it’s easy to upgrade. Adding to, or repositioning devices can be done disruption-free and efficiently. Also, if you need interim alarm coverage for a temporary building, like a portacabin, wireless works best.
You can even have wireless added to an existing wired system, rather than starting from scratch.
And if a fire alarm is required in an older building where asbestos lurks, wireless solutions would almost certainly be preferable.
3. Reliability
With literally thousands of wireless fire alarm installations under our belt, we can vouch for the reliability of the systems we fit. Flawless and failsafe, the EN54 and BS 5839-compliant equipment we work with sets the industry standard. The only thing that is likely to change is that these systems will get better and more advanced as time goes on.
How they work
Our systems are designed to enhance safety and streamline fire response in any commercial environment.
Modern fire alarm systems use radio frequencies to transmit signals from detectors, ensuring robust and reliable performance. These systems consist of detection sensors for smoke and heat, along with a control panel that will activate an alarm should a threat develop.
The special batteries that power the equipment are designed to last between 3-5 years. When they start to run low, you’ll get at least a month’s notice that a replacement will be required. Plenty of time for a Justice engineer to pop in and fit a replacement.
Remote Management
Our services include remote management capability, so your premises are continually monitored off-site, enhancing the overall fire safety operation on your behalf.
The Fire Alarm Systems We Install
Electro Detectors
Electro-Detectors are the leading manufacturer of radio fire alarm systems and boasts the most comprehensive radio system available on the market today.
We install their range of Zerio Plus systems, which are fully EN54 part 25 compliant. Based on the Zerio system which has been manufactured for over half a decade, the system is designed to be extremely user friendly.
Apollo-Advanced Fire Systems
Advanced and Apollo XP95 Addressable Fire detection and alarm systems are found in over 60 countries and are designed for larger and more complex buildings, which can identify each single device on the system at the control panel. Of hybrid design, they are also often installed in smaller buildings, where certain parameters can’t be achieved with conventional systems.
Their range of MX Pro, Touchcontrol and PSUs are used exclusively by Justice Fire and Security.
We can also install EMS and Hyfire wireless equipment
Next Steps
Free Site Survey
Prior to every wireless fire alarm installation, we would undertake a FREE on-site survey. This would be carried out by one of our qualified engineers, whereupon we will raise a quotation for the work required.
Wireless Fire Alarm Installation
If the proposal is acceptable, our designer will return to site and carry out a second wireless survey, involving some specialised equipment, to confirm that the system is compatible in the environment and that there have been no changes since the original survey.
We then will issue design drawings and certification, in accordance with BAFE and NSI Gold requirements. A mutually agreeable date is set with you for the system installation.
We usually pre-program the detectors and call points off-site before installation, so it is just a case of arriving on site on the prescribed installation day and fixing the devices in the various pre-designated areas, which normally only takes a few minutes.
Commissioning
Our commissioning engineer will then fully test the system and provide you with a comprehensive demonstration. The engineer will fit the zone layout drawing to the wall and issue a logbook and operator’s manual. BAFE Certification will be sent out from our admin team shortly afterwards.
Preventative Fire Alarm Maintenance Visits
Our engineers will carry out six monthly preventative maintenance visits and more frequently on large systems – but we are available 24/7 should you have any problems or require some advice.
Our wireless or wire free fire alarm systems are more widely used today than ever before. If you have a new requirement or you are looking to upgrade an existing fire alarm system, we would be delighted to assist you.
